InterGlobe Technologies becomes the first PCI DSS 2.0 CertifiedTravel BPO Service Provider

InterGlobe Technologies (IGT), the leading provider of integrated IT- BPO solutions to the travel and hospitality industry, has today announced its successful PCI DSS 2.0 certification as perhaps the first Travel BPO organization by leading PCI DSS QSAC, ControlCase. The company has effectively met the newest version of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance requirements. The certification was awarded basis a meticulous audit process of IGT’s security measures used in protecting e-commerce customers and their data involving travel transactions conducted by ControlCase, a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) certified by the PCI Security Standards Council.

The PCI Data Security Standard is a rigorous compliance standard used by all major credit and bank card companies, including VISA USA, VISA International, MasterCard Worldwide, American Express, Discover Network and JCB. The latest PCI DSS 2.0 standard, based on extensive inputs from the PCI Security Standard Council’s global stakeholders, is designed to provide greater clarity and flexibility to facilitate improved understanding of the requirements and eased implementation for merchants.

The mission of the PCI Security Standards Council is to enhance payment account security by driving education and awareness of the PCI Data Security Standard and other standards that increase payment data security.The PCI Security Standards Council was formed by the major payment card brands American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc. to provide a transparent forum in which all stakeholders can provide input into the ongoing development, enhancement and dissemination of the PCI Data Security Standard (DSS), PIN Transaction Security (PTS) requirements and the Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) ControlCase on requirements of PCI Data Security Standard Version 2.0. The combined wisdom and sharing of knowledge of the leading Card brands and other stakeholders has enabled PCI SSC to continue strengthening the compliance requirements and update PCI DSS periodically to provide the required level of security for Payment Card related operations.
